Among those attending the Caring Community 30th anniversary benefit gala at Tribeca Rooftop on Nov. 3 were, top photo, from left, Fran Buzzeo, Father Cogo of Our Lady of Pompeii, Al Buzzeo, former deputy commissioner of the Dept. for the Aging — who received special recognition for his years of service — Arty Strickler, Community Board 2’s district manager, and Lucy Cecere, one of the organization’s founders.

Also at the bash were, at left, Dan Paul, owner of the Washington Sq. Hotel, and Jane Passanen, who runs the Chelsea Forum, a speakers’ bureau, both Caring Community board members. Lionell Arrindell, Caring Community’s chef, also received special recognition for his 30 years of service. The 2003 Leadership Award was presented to John Sexton, N.Y.U.’s president. The Sisters of Charity, the landlord of Caring Community’s Washington Sq. N. headquarters, received the 2003 Good Neighbor Award. Julie Chen from the “CBS Early Show” was the night’s emcee. Just over 300 attended.
