Confluence of Commerce and Ceramics Kiva Coffee and Catering house hosted the Chambers Street Pottery studios spring show. The show is on exhibit at KIVA 299 Hudson Street just north of Canal Street until tax day April 15. It showcases the work of 15 potters and ceramists. The joint venture was the brain child of Chamber Street Ceramic artist and teacher Rachel Sydlowski and BeeBe Okoye, owner of KIVA. Pictured above is artist Mary Liao and at left is artist Jennifer Segal. All of the work on exhibit was commissioned to reflect the coffee house sprit, from the whimsical mugs as faces by Naomi Machado to the earthy, burnished tones of potters Jennifer Segal and Jane Freidson. All work is for sale, prices range from 15 to 400 dollars and all hold coffee.

Inspired visitors can enroll at Chamber Pottery by calling 212 619 7302 or going to WWW.chamberspottery.com. New classes start the week of April 4.
