Ultimate fighting well, kind of, on A
On Tues., June 5, at 4:15 p.m., there was a brief but bloody battle between a few young men at the bus stop on Avenue A between St. Mark’s Pl. and Seventh St. The combatants sparred for a good five minutes, rolling on the sidewalk and delivering hard blows to the face. One fighter’s nose started gushing blood, and may have been broken, after he was caught with an elbow. One of them fled down Seventh St. while the other, slower to get up, eventually wandered off, as well. Police were called, but arrived after the fighters had left.
