At Fashion Night Out in SoHo on September 10, the event at the John Varvatos store on Spring Street drew a huge crowd; so huge the store had to turn people away. The streets outside were packed with fashionistas and inside the Varvatos store was no different, except for the occasional celebrity and the fact that photographer Mick Rock was on hand. Any patron who spent over $300 was able to have their portrait taken by the famed photog.
“It feels great to be recognized for something you put your heart and soul into,” said the designer John Varvatos who entered the store to a round of applause.
When asked if he was thinking about opening a location in Lower Manhattan, Varvatos said his next move would be to the Upper East Side. He said there is a void in the neighborhood when it comes to men’s fashion.
“I love it in Lower Manhattan,” the designer said. “But right now, we have everything we need here in SoHo.”
