Vincent J. Tatick, a longtime fish wholesaler in the Fulton Fish Market, died suddenly Mon. Oct. 31 at the age of 65.
He had a heart attack while at the family summer home in East Stroudsburg, Pa., said his wife, Joi.
A second-generation Fulton market wholesaler, he was born in Manhattan and grew up in Brooklyn, the son of Frances and Frank Tatick, the owner of a Fulton market company that bore Frank’s name. Vincent worked for his father in the market part time while going to high school in Far Rockaway and joined the Marine Corps after graduation and served for three years.
He returned to the fish business after serving in the Marines and joined Joseph H. Carter, Inc., another Fulton Market wholesale firm, after his father died. Vincent Tatick was president of the Carter firm when he died and had served as president of the Fulton Fish Market Cooperative.
He was married at Our Lady of Pompei in 1980 and the family lived on Hudson St. in the West Village. In addition to his wife, their daughter, Kara, a student at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, survives.
The viewing will be at Perazzo Funeral Home, 199 Bleecker St. on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 3 and 4. A funeral mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sat. Nov. 5 at Our Lady of Pompei and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Queens.
