A 13-year-old boy is dead after a horrific shooting in Brooklyn on Thursday night.
Police officers responded to a 911 call at Brooklyn Avenue and St. Marks Avenue, where they found Troy Gill with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body.
Paramedics rushed the boy to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where doctors pronounced him dead.
No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
NYPD officials did not release a motive for the shooting, nor any suspects in the case.
Between Jan. 1 and Feb. 25, when the most recent NYPD data is available, there had been 44 murders on the streets of the five boroughs — marking a notable decline from the 60 killings during the same timeframe last year.
