Brooklyn man dies after he was shot in the head on a neighborhood street corner: cops

A man died on Tuesday evening after he was shot less than one block away from his Brooklyn home.

Authorities say that at 6:43 p.m. on Feb. 4, the NYPD responded to a call of a man shot at the intersection of Elton Street and New Lots Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found 19-year-old Jeremiah Dickey, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to his head.

EMS rushed Dickey to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
