Police in Manhattan are looking for the stabbing suspect who assaulted a man as he rested near a park on Saturday afternoon.

Law enforcement sources said the attack occurred near the corner of West 25th Street and 5th Avenue, across from Madison Square Park, in the Flatiron District at about 5:30 p.m. on March 29.

According to police, the perpetrator approached the victim, a 31-year-old man, as he sat on a bench near Worth Square and the two men became engaged in an argument.

The beef turned bloody, cops said, when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the right hand, causing a laceration.

Following the assault, cops said, the assailant fled on foot northbound along 5th Avenue.

The incident was reported to the 13th Precinct. EMS rushed the victim to a local hospital for treatment of his injury.

On Saturday night, the NYPD released images of the suspect, whom they described as a man with a dark complexion who was last seen wearing a multicolored jacket, blue jeans, and brown shoes.
