If Brian Daboll or Mike Kafka could not beat the Eagles, they might as well join them.

The New York Giants’ previous two head coaches are interviewing with their former NFC East rivals for the team’s open offensive coordinator job, per reports over the weekend.

Daboll was fired during his fourth season as Giants head coach after a 2-8 start, following a 3-14 showing last year.

He has an extensive history with the Eagles’ foundation. He worked with Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni within the Kansas City Chiefs’ coaching staff under Romeo Crennel in 2012. Daboll was the offensive coordinator while Sirianni was the wide receivers coach.

Daboll also coached Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts at the University of Alabama.

Kafka took over for Daboll following Week 10 and went 2-5 during his seven-game stint in charge. He interviewed for the Giants’ permanent head-coaching role on Jan. 7, but the job ultimately went to John Harbaugh.

At 38, he is still considered one of the brightest young offensive minds in the game, having graduated from the Andy Reid coaching tree in Kansas City. He has also interviewed for the OC roles with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions this offseason.

Kafka was drafted by the Eagles in 2010 as a quarterback and appeared in four games for the franchise the following year.

While the Eagles won the Super Bowl last season and have taken the NFC East in three of the last four years, this will be their fifth different offensive coordinator in as many seasons.
