A Brooklyn man was arrested following a crash over the Fourth of July weekend that left a motorcyclist dead on a busy borough intersection.
Police arrested 29-year-old Tony Wallace of Snyder Avenue in Flatbush for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following the crash on Saturday.
According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred at the intersection of Clarendon Road and E. 35 Street in East Flatbush just after midnight on July 5.
Per the investigation, highway police determined that Wallace was driving a 2019 Alpha Romeo heading eastbound on Clarendon Road when he barreled into a black 2024 Fengyuan motorcycle, driven by 34-year-old Mamadou Oury Diallo, who was traveling westbound on the same street.
Officers from the 67th Precinct rushed to the scene after receiving a 911 call about the horrifying collision.
It is unclear right now what Diallo’s injuries were at the scene, but paramedics were on site and immediately rushed him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Wallace remained at the scene and was taken into custody. No other arrests were made, but the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad is continuing to investigate.
The incident occurred the same day as another fatal crash that left a motorcyclist dead on Staten Island. Jeremy Claudio, a 34-year-old husband and father who lived in the borough, was riding his 2025 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle when he crashed into the driver-side door of a 2009 Toyota Rav 4 in Clifton.
The driver in that incident remained at the scene and was not charged.
