Alex Wolff to play Boston bomber in ‘Patriots Day’

Former Nickelodeon star Alex Wolff will play Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the younger of the two brothers responsible for the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

TheWrap.com said the star of the 2007-2009 series “The Naked Brothers Band” joins Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, Kevin Bacon and Michelle Monaghan in director Peter Berg’s “Patriots Day,” with newcomer Themo Melikidze playing sibling Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was killed during the subsequent police manhunt.

Wolff, 18, the son of “thirtysomething” star Polly Draper and musician Michael Wolff, currently appears in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.”

“Patriots Day,” now shooting in Boston, is scheduled to open in that city, New York and Los Angeles on Dec. 21.
