Eva Longoria engaged to José Antonio Bastón

Actress-producer Eva Longoria and José “Pepe” Antonio Bastón Patino, a top executive of the multinational Latin American media conglomerate Televisa, are engaged.

“Ummmm so this happened. . . . #Engaged #Dubai #Happiness,” Longoria, 40, tweeted Sunday, posting an image of herself and Bastón, 47, kissing against a background of sandy desert in the United Arab Emirates. The couple was in Dubai to attend the Dubai International Film Festival’s Global Gift Gala on Saturday.

The two had made their first public appearance in November 2013 at the red-carpet opening of Museo Jumex at Casa de la Bola in Mexico City. Us Weekly said at the time that Bastón and the former “Desperate Housewives” star had first been seen together late the previous month, kissing and holding hands in New York City.

Longoria, who stars in the NBC sitcom “Telenovela” and is an executive producer of “Devious Maids,” has been married twice. She is divorced from actor Tyler Christopher, to whom she was married from 2002 to 2004. Longoria and NBA player Tony Parker married in July 2007, and she filed for divorce in November 2010.

Longoria’s other boyfriends have included NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez and Eduardo Cruz, brother of Oscar-winner Penélope Cruz. Most prior to Bastón, Longoria reportedly had dated Miami businessman Ernesto Arguello, with the two breaking up in August 2012 after four months together, Us said then.

Bastón has been president of Television and Contents at Grupo Televisa SAB since April 1999.
