‘Hunger Games’ finale premiere scaled down after Paris attacks

The Los Angeles premiere of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” has been scaled back in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

There will be no interviews on the red carpet, although the stars of the film — Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Josh Hutcherson — will likely pose for photos before going into a screening in downtown Los Angeles.

“Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday’s Mockingjay 2 premiere,” said a statement from Lionsgate. “We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion.”

Wednesday’s premiere in New York is still scheduled to proceed, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The multiple terrorist attacks Friday in Paris killed more than 120 people and injured hundreds. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” is scheduled for release Nov. 20.
