Actress Lindsay Lohan has completed a pilot for a hidden-camera prank show she first mentioned last month during her appearance on “The View.”
“I’m back, bitches,” the “Mean Girls” star and refugee activist said in a Twitter video for “The Anti-Social Network,” posted Tuesday night. “I love social media. I am social media. Everybody knows you should never leave your phone lying around — especially near me. So I decided I’m going to hijack your social media — your Instagram, your Snapchat, your Facebook, your Twitter — all of it, for 24 hours. If you can pull off three challenges you’ll win some fabulous prizes. You won’t know that I’m the one that’s pulling the strings.”
The nearly minute-and-a-half video shows excerpts featuring the hapless Charlie, a young British man, as he dutifully poses nude at an art class, performs a disastrous stand-up comedy gig, and tells his boss he’s in love with her.
“I’ve decided to dare people to really question how much their social media is worth,” Lohan, 30, says on the video, adding mischievously, “I am really good.”
Entertainment Weekly said the series is being presented to various networks in hopes of going to series.
The show originally had a different title when Lohan first mentioned it on the Feb. 20 edition of the daytime panel-discussion show “The View.” “We just finished the sizzle reel for this show that I’m doing — producing and created with my business partner — called ‘Nerd’ … We’ll go to someone and I hijack their social media for 24 hours and dare them … to do things that they think they’re good at.”
Lohan herself had been the victim of a prank on the second season of the Ashton Kutcher-Jason Goldberg prank show “Punk’d.” In the Dec. 14, 2003, episode, she found her limo ride diverted by a driver who said he needed to rush to a hospital to be by his wife’s side.
