Seth Meyers tries to force Miley Cyrus to be his friend in ‘Late Night’ segment

No, Seth Meyers, Miley Cyrus does not want to be your friend.

In a segment for “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” called “Forced Friends,” Meyers tries to hang out with another member of the NBC family in an effort to make sure everyone at the network is getting along.

In the latest addition to the series, posted to YouTube on Thursday, Meyers is forced to befriend newest “Voice” coach, Miley Cyrus. The pop star is a bit of a different target for Meyers, whose previous guests have included Lester Holt and Keith Morrison.

From the start, 42-year-old Meyers tries too hard to match the 23-year-old’s interests. He shows off a new septum piercing, shares unwarranted stories about raunchy memories he has from the show’s set and pays a 30-something-year-old to pretend he is a Seth Meyers-obsessed teen.

It doesn’t stop there.

The talk show host tells Cyrus all about the “gang” he’s in (other members coincidentally happen to be Joey, Ross, Monica and Chandler). The harder Meyers tries, the sooner Cyrus walks away, clearly unimpressed.

The moral of the story for Meyers? Maybe next time don’t try so hard.
