New Settlement 10th Annual Celebration Block Party: In celebration of the 10th anniversary of its Community Center, New Settlement is hosting a block party for the Bronx community. Those who stop by can enjoy a dunk tank, balloon animals, face painting, pop-a-shot basketball, bouncy house castles, food and more, plus backpacks and school supplies will also be distributed during a special giveaway to local students and families. September 11, 2001 Commemoration: Each year on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the families of victims gather for a ceremony on the 9/11 Memorial plaza to read aloud the names of those whose lives were lost on that tragic day as well as the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.
