The Brooklyn Bar Association celebrates new judges, scholarship winners

The Brooklyn Bar Association hosted its Judiciary Night and cocktail reception at its Brooklyn Heights headquarters on Tuesday, April 8.

The bar association holds the annual celebration to honor the service of the members of the judiciary who work long days and nights to get through their caseloads. The event gives the bar association members a chance to socialize with New York’s judiciary and learn more about the happenings at the courts. 

During the proceedings, Administrative Judge for Criminal Matters Matthew D’Emic and Civil Supreme Court Administrative Judge Genine Edwards introduced new judges to the court, Laura Paley, Joanne D. Quinones, Abayomi Ajaiyeoba and Inga O’Neale.

The event also honored the three students who will be receiving scholarships from the Hon. Theodore T. Jones, Jr., Scholarship Fund are: Veronica Galek, Sydney Oliver and Miles Patricof.

They received the award in recognition of their dedication to the law, community and pro Bono work. They are all from Brooklyn Law School.
