Skiing, snow and the mountains usually come to mind when you think about Aspen, that ritzy Colorado town where celebrities mingle, giant fluffy dogs act as accessories and truffles are served for breakfast. But just as everything in Aspen isn’t glamorous, skiing is not the only thing to do. During the summer and fall, plenty of people flock here for hiking, biking, eating, horseback riding, fishing and even just to relax in the pristine mountain air. The best part: Once you get to the town, you really don’t need a car since some buses run for free between the mountains, outfitters organize adventure tours, and everything else is just a short walk away.
