Christian Siriano debuts bridal collection at Kleinfeld Bridal

Forget walking down the aisle, this season’s brides will be strutting down the catwalk.

Reality show and fashion obsessed brides have a lot to look forward to. Bravo’s “Project Runway” winner Christian Siriano has partnered with TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress” boutique Kleinfeld Bridal, 110 W. 20th St., with a line of 27 bridal gowns.

Siriano, whose studio and flagship store are both in New York City, previously released a capsule collection with Kleinfeld and the popularity of the special gowns led him to want to expand and “do a bigger story, for every bride,” he said at Kleinfeld on Monday before a fashion show unveiling his newest collection.

A veteran of New York Fashion Week, Siriano, who designed custom wedding gowns before his launch to fashion fame, said that designing outfits for brides is a unique challenge. “There’s more attention to certain shapes and silhouettes that I wouldn’t always celebrate in evening wear or my normal collection,” he said. “It’s fun . . . you just get to make fantasy.”

Inspired by Impressionist paintings and the South of France, Siriano’s line features “light, romantic and not so overly adorned” wedding dresses and even a few pants options.

Lydia Hearst is Siriano’s next big name bride, though any bride with a budget for a dress between $4,500 and $19,500 can purchase from the collection at Kleinfeld.
