Boulton & Watt’s cast-iron cookie is served with strawberry milk

• “It’s about bringing you back to your childhood,” said David Rotter, chef and partner at Boulton & Watt, which opened in 2013. The texture of the cookie is what makes it one of the most popular dishes at the restaurant, he said. The inside retains its brownie-like consistency.

  The strawberry milk is made with real strawberries, Rotter said. He blends whole milk with strawberries and a touch of sugar.

East Village hotspot Boulton & Watt (5 Ave. A, boultonandwattnyc.com) has decided to celebrate the season by turning their popular cast-iron cookie into a spring cast-iron cookie, with M&Ms in pastel hues subbing in for the usual chocolate chunks and strawberry milk taking over from plain milk.

The giant cookie is playful and fun, and the strawberry milk made us feel quite nostalgic indeed. Get both for $10.
