Hi-C Ecto Cooler returns for ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot, Coca-Cola announces

On May 30, a cult favorite beverage will reappear on grocery shelves for the first time in 15 years: Ecto Cooler, the citrus-flavored, green-colored drink made by Hi-C, is returning.

The Coca-Cola Company announced this week that it was bringing the popular drink, which first debuted in 1987 as a tie-in with the “Ghostbusters” franchise, back just in time for this summer’s highly anticipated “Ghostbusters” reboot.

“Hi-C Ecto Cooler fueled a pop culture phenomenon that is well remembered and beloved by fans to this day,” said Charles Torrey, vice president of Minute Maid/Hi-C Brands, Coca-Cola North America, in a news release. “Sony Pictures was extremely enthusiastic about bringing it back for this special occasion, and the timing of the upcoming ‘Ghostbusters’ film made this the exact right time.”

Ecto Cooler will be sold in 10 packs of 6-ounce juice boxes and in six and 12 packs of 11.5-ounce aluminum cans. If you can’t wait until May 30, enter to win some before it’s officially released.

Paul Feig’s “Ghostbusters,” starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon hits theaters on July 15, 2016.
