The McFrappuccino hasn’t yet hit the menu, but McDonald’s is trying yet again to compete with Starbucks.
In an ongoing plan to appeal more to millenials, McCafés, named after the McCafé section of McDonald’s coffee menu, are opening in Canada, the fast food chain announced via Medium on Dec. 10.
The world’s first standalone McDonald’s coffee shop opened in Toronto on Thursday, with a second Canadian McCafe planned for early 2016.
On the menu: quinoa edamame mandarin salad, kale and brussel sprouts salad, croissants, an Oreo affogato made with cookie crumbs, soft serve and espresso and, of course, the iconic Egg McMuffin®.
To date, there are no known plans to open McCafés in New York City.
