A Bronx man is in custody for seriously injuring a man during an early-morning robbery at a subway station this week.
Juan Bermudez, 23, was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to police, at 3:24 a.m. on Feb. 3, a 30-year-old man was allegedly approached by Bermudez on the northbound 6 train platform at the Cypress Avenue subway station. Bermudez then allegedly stabbed the victim with a cutting instrument in the face and took his cellphone before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained lacerations to his face and was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln for treatment. Police released video of the attacker after the incident took place.
Following an ongoing investigation, Bermudez was taken into custody on Feb. 6.
