A Bronx man faces attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting and seriously wounding another man in a fit of apparent road rage last week.

According to police sources, 41-year-old Frankie Poventud turned himself in at the 44th Precinct stationhouse on Sunday after cops had been hunting him for the Jan. 16 incident.

The gunfire erupted at around 3:42 p.m. on Friday near Concourse Village West and East 156th Street.

Law enforcement sources said a 36-year-old man got into a verbal dispute with Poventud when the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot his victim in the body.

Poventud and a female accomplice fled the scene before police arrived. Cops said the 36-year-old male victim made his way to Lincoln Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Poventud is charged with attempted murder, two counts of assault, reckless endangerment, and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The female remains at large.
