A gunman ambushed and shot a 31-year-old man in a hail of bullets as the victim sat in his car on a Brooklyn street Tuesday morning, police reported.
The victim, however, is expected to recover from his injuries, authorities reported.
Law enforcement sources said the shooting happened at about 6:44 a.m. on March 2 at the corner of East 98th Street and East New York Avenue in Brownsville.
According to police, the victim sat inside a Nissan parked at the location when the gunman showed up on the scene inside a blue sedan and got out.
Cops said the gunman walked up to the victim’s car and began firing multiple shots through the front and rear windows. The victim was subsequently hit in the torso.
Following the gunfire, cops said, the gunman took off from the scene eastbound on East New York Avenue. The victim managed to flee to the intersection of Rockaway Parkway and Rutland Road, where he stopped.
Officers from the 67th and 73rd Precincts responded to the incidents along with EMS units. Paramedics rushed her to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
