A man died Wednesday morning after being struck by two separate drivers on the FDR Drive in Manhattan, police say.
Cops from the 17th Precinct responded to a 911 call at 5:30 am Wednesday from the FDR near East 38th Street, just outside the tunnel underneath the United Nations.
Officers discovered Kadeem Lee, 31, of Hell’s Kitchen, lying in the roadway, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS pronounced the man dead on arrival.
Investigators say Lee was walking in traffic on the FDR’s northbound side when he was struck by the driver-side mirror of a Honda sedan. That wasn’t enough to knock him down, but seconds later Lee was struck again, this time a direct hit, by the 56-year-old driver of a BMW SUV, and collapsed to the roadway.
Both drivers remained on the scene, and neither suffered any injuries. No arrests have been made but the investigation remains ongoing.
