Police arrested a 48-year-old man Tuesday who allegedly punched a 13-year-old girl in the head on board an MTA bus in the Bronx in July.

Louis Monroig, a Bronx resident, was arrested for assaulting the girl on board an MTA BX8 bus at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, police said. The bus was in front of 1765 Crosby Ave., by Westchester Avenue, at the time of the attack.

Monroig allegedly punched the girl in the head and then fled the bus. The girl was not seriously injured. It is unclear what led to the attack.

The 48-year-old has been charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17-years-old.
