On Mon., Dec. 3, at 11:30 p.m., police responded to a construction site above the Strawberry’s store at 38 E. 14th St. at University Pl. and found an unidentified white male, age 29, unconscious. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A police investigation continues. Also, on Sun, Dec. 2, at 1:47 a.m., police responded to a call of an unconscious person in Washington Square Park near MacDougal St. and Washington Square South. Upon arrival, they found a black female in her 40s who was unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and pronounced her dead at the scene. “There are no signs of trauma at this time,” noted the police report filed after the woman was found. On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner’s Office said neither individual had been identified yet and that the cause of death for both was still being determined. Jimmy Alberici, Sixth Precinct community affairs officer, said both were homeless and it’s believed the man died possibly from a heroin overdose.
