was crossing from south to north on Canal St. after dark at 7:15 p.m. Mon Nov. 10. An E.M.S. attendant said the victim sustained a leg injury and was being taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital. Police at the scene said the traffic light was with the driver, who failed to see the victim, estimated to be in his 50s, as he was turning into the westbound lanes on the north side of Canal St.
