Bigot attacks and bites off part of victim’s finger in hate-fueled Midtown assault

The NYPD is looking for a bigot who attacked a Chinese American New Yorker in Midtown on Tuesday morning.

Authorities say that at 9:50 a.m. on May 18, a 48-year-old man was standing in the vicinity of West 43rd Street and 11th Avenue when he was approached by an unknown man. The man proceeded to punch the victim in the face in an unprovoked attack and told him to “go back to your country.”

The suspect continued to punch the victim’s face repeatedly and bit the victim’s two fingers, causing the tip of the victim’s middle finger to be severed. The suspect then fled the scene northbound on 11th Avenue.

EMS rushed the victim to Mt. Sinai West, where he was treated for the severed fingertip as well as lacerations to his forehead and swelling to his eye.
