On Saturday, J.J. Walker Playground, at Hudson and Clarkson Sts., was full of the sound of balls clacking against each other and thudding on dirt, and the smell of cigar smoke, as four-player teams competed in the semifinals of the 16th Annual Citywide Bocce Tournament. Semifinal matches were also held in four other parks, one in each of the outer boroughs. The finals were Sunday at Francis Lewis Park in Queens. Winning teams receive four new Perfetta bocce sets and reviewing stand tickets to watch the 2010 Columbus Day Parade on Mon., Oct. 11.
