Harbor patrol police pulled a body out of the Hudson River near Pier 40 at W. Houston St. on Sunday afternoon shortly after it had been spotted at 1:17 p.m. Police identified the man as Michael Brooks, 30, of 1482 St. John’s Pl. in Brooklyn. Detective John Buthorn, a police spokesperson, said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body and that the Medical Examiner is determining the cause of death.
