A tractor-trailer caught fire on the Manhattan Bridge Wednesday morning, resulting in a temporary closure of the bridge’s upper level, but there were no injuries reported.
The vehicle fire, which occurred in a Brooklyn-bound lane, was reported as under control by 12: 25 p.m. July 8, according to the New York City Fire Department’s press office.
The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. that morning, when a marine unit responded to the emergency and extinguished the flames.
Through traffic resumed at 1:38 p.m., according to the city’s Notify NYC’s traffic alerts.
