A Brooklyn police officer found himself in handcuffs Tuesday evening for allegedly stalking and harassing his ex-girlfriend, police reported.
Zaid Zeidyyeh, 25, was taken into custody at about 8 p.m. on Aug. 6 within the confines of the 83rd Precinct, based in Bushwick.
While police officials have not commented on the charges, sources familiar with the investigation said that Zeidyyeh allegedly harassed his ex-girlfriend — sending her a slew of text messages to the victim.
Police did not provide specifics as to the content of the messages, but the sources noted that they made the victim feel threatened — and compelled her to contact authorities.
Law enforcement sources said Zeidyyeh works out of Police Service Area 3 and has been on the job since 2022. He has been suspended pending a full investigation.
Zeidyyeh is charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and fourth-degree stalking.
