In the article on the Provincetown Playhouse in The Villager’s June 24 issue, an indirect quote attributed to Bob Vorlicky, of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts — that Vorlicky “said he tried but failed to book space in Provincetown Playhouse for a Tisch performance” — was in error. Vorlicky did not make any such statement at the Community Board 2 May 28 meeting, and appeared at the meeting solely to read a letter on the subject from Brenda Murphy of the University of Connecticut, president of the Eugene O’Neill Society. Murphy’s letters said the O’Neill Society supports New York University’s plan to preserve the playhouse’s structural walls, along with the playhouse’s exact volume and footprint, and preserve the theater’s entryway and relevant features and elements, such as seats. The letter also urged N.Y.U. to construct a small museum that reflects the significance of the whole building, rather that just including a few photos in the lobby, as planned. The letter also urges N.Y.U. to continue to host the annual O’Neill Festival and other appropriate programming. … In last week’s issue, the photo on the op-ed page of a wall on the Bowery and E. Houston St. painted with images of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton was not taken by Nick Brooks but by Milo Hess.
