Downtown karma?
Sen. Barack Obama came Downtown last week to speak about the economy at Cooper Union’s Great Hall, a site made famous by another presidential hopeful from Illinois. Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 anti-slavery speech there was widely credited for catapulting him to the Republican nomination and the presidency. Mayor Mike Bloomberg had kind words as he introduced Obama, but he stopped short of an endorsement. Obama, however, did endorse the mayor’s congestion pricing plan.
