Kim Yarbrough shared a moment with his daughter, Caitlin, last week the day before he left town for Milwaukee, where a friend will put him up for a while. A familiar East Village figure, Yarbrough worked as a building superintendent and also lived on St. Mark’s Pl. for 30 years. Calling him another victim of gentrification, Yarbrough’s friends say he was fired and lost his apartment because the landlord wanted to rent it for more money. Yarbrough was a bouncer at the Fillmore East in the 1960s, where he had his hands full throwing out rowdies and the occasional patron freaking out on acid, and knew the likes of Janis Joplin, Abbie Hoffman and Wavy Gravy. In September, The Villager reported on the ordeal of Caitlin, 18, and two of her friends who were held more than two days at Pier 57 and Central Booking after being rounded up in a mass arrest near Union Sq. during the Republican National Convention.
