The city Parks Dept. is offering free after-school swimming lessons beginning in October.
Children, ages 6-14, will be offered classes at the Tony Dapolito Recreation Center at 1 Clarkson St. near Seventh Ave. Lessons will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This fall, those wishing to enroll their children in the After School Learn to Swim program can register on the following days: Tues., Oct. 9 and Thurs., Oct. 11 between 4 and 5 p.m. and on Sat., Oct. 6 and Sat., Oct. 13 between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.
The classes will run from Tues., Oct. 16 through Thurs., Dec. 20 at the Tony Dapolito Recreation Center. Although space is limited for the program and children are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, there are eight other locations throughout the city where the program is offered.
