Readers,

I always feel sad saying goodbye to summer. But I look forward to the crispness and colors of fall, the city cooling off and taking long, fun walks through different neighborhoods. One of the best things about our city is its variety from block to block, its landmark buildings, waterfronts and parks. It’s a great place to hike and explore. Now is a great time to get active with a brisk walk before winter comes.

One place to discover is Hudson River Park, the beautiful piers and park along the west side of Manhattan, running from Battery to midtown. In this issue of ThriveNYC, meet Ross Graham, an activist and community leader instrumental in getting the park off the ground. Hers is a colorful life and she has a great outlook and love of our city we hope you enjoy.

Also in this issue, we look at the results of a new sex study of older men and women. Who should you confide your sexual problems to? If you answered your doctor, then this article is a must-read. You’ll be surprised what they found.

We also look at ages and options for retiring and going on Social Security. You have some decisions and choices to make before you settle on early retirement.

And, we also bring you our Medicaid column, Ask Marci, which addresses a range of concerns and questions.

Enjoy reading.
