Goldberger named Parsons dean

Paul Goldberger, architecture critic for The New Yorker and previously for the New York Times where he won a Pulitzer Prize in 1984, will become dean of the Parsons School of Design of New School University on July 1.

New School University President Bob Kerrey announced the appointment on March 31, noting that the university intends to make new investments in Parsons faculty, facilities and technology over the next few years.

Goldberger, who has taught at Yale School of Architecture for several years, will continue writing on architecture for The New Yorker. At Parsons, he will succeed H. Randolph Swearer who has served as dean since 1999.
