After much anticipation the Intrepid was out of the mud and into the Hudson River Tuesday, Dec. 5. The decommissioned Navy aircraft carrier, which has been docked at Pier 86 since 1982 and has served as an air, sea and space museum, will go through a restoration process in Bayonne, N.J. It is scheduled to return to Pier 86 in November of 2008. Above, it passes by onlookers just north of North Cove Marina. The large American flag was unfurled when the ship passed the World Trade Center site.
