The zoo came to Susan Soler’s kindergarten and first-grade class at P.S. 3 in Greenwich Village last week. The children visited zoos in the Bronx and elsewhere in the city during the term, and on June 18 and 19 they donned their zookeeper T-shirts and hats that they made themselves and opened their own zoo with animals they made themselves. More than 300 visitors came to their zoo over the two days. Clockwise from top left, Lola Lloses stood by her zebra, Yusuf and Victoria Poeja guarded the lion, Buster Whaley showed one of his house mice and Eli Coopersmith held up his squirrel monkey.
