The Lower Manhattan Health Care Coalition is holding a general meeting on the health of Lower Manhattan on Thurs., March 25. Topics will include access to healthcare, common illnesses and trends and needs of emerging ethnic minorities. Guest speaker will be Dr. Polly Thomas, assistant commissioner for surveillance and epidemiology at the city Department of Heath and Mental Hygiene. Local politicians are expected to attend. Open to the public but geared to healthcare professionals, the meeting will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Henry Street Settlement, Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand St., between Pitt St. and Bialystoker Place, Room G05.
