Museum grant

The Museum of Chinese in America has received a $100,000 grant from the Rockefeller Foundation to support its future permanent exhibition.

Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin awarded the $2.6 million New York City Cultural Innovation Fund on Dec. 7 to 16 organizations.

The grant will help pay for MOCA’s future permanent exhibition called “The Chinese Experience,” which is scheduled to open September 2008 in a new home being designed by Maya Lin on Centre St.

The interactive exhibits will range from a historical overview of Chinese immigration to individual stories that reveal what it has meant to be a Chinese in America at different moments in time.
