Music, munchies and evoking the mood of miracles

Latkes (potato pancakes) with sour cream or applesauce were devoured to the sounds of an Israeli trio playing Hanukkah music as part of The New Shul’s Hanukkah celebration at the Village Community School on W. 10th St. In a New Shul ritual, congregants then affixed flashlights to an architectural Star of David, as they thought of miracles, challenges and battles in their own lives.
