Common Ground, the Native American arts and crafts shop located in the Village for 30 years, is closing its retail outlet on W. 10th St. between Greenwich and Sixth Aves. at the end of August and consolidating its business at its other location at 22 W. 16th St. between Fifth and Sixth Aves.
Among the celebrity customers at Village store, which had been on Greenwich Ave. before the present W. 10th St. address, were Andy Warhol, the sculptor Louise Nevelson and the set designer Robert Wilson. Entertainment celebrities who patronized Common Ground include Bruce Springsteen, Susan Sarandon, Robert DeNiro and Uma Thurman.
