Harkening back to the days when Hester St. was a bustling scene full of pushcart vendors, the newly opened Hester St. Market is proving to be a huge hit. Situated on a remnant of Hester St. between Seward Park to the south and the playground to the north, the market draws an eclectic and changing mix of vendors, selling everything from crafts to snacks. It operates Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will run through December. The market is also pitching in to help victims of last month’s devastating Grand St. fire. People dropped off gently used items on Sun., May 16, which will be sold off on Sun., May 23, to raise funds for the fire’s victims.
