Power pours it on

Jim “Mosaic Man” Power, 58, left, stood proudly in front of his most recent project — mosaic art for The Village Pour House, a soon-to-open bar on 11th St. and Third Ave. Power is decorating the entranceway of the new watering hole, expertly blending colorful bar taps and pieces of champagne bottles into his latest mosaic creation. In addition to the entranceway, which is slated to be complete by Fri. Aug. 4, the bar’s grand opening, Power is also creating a larger project for the bar. As described by bar owner Sean McGarr, this larger project will feature a life-sized man holding a beer facing a woman holding a cocktail. For the time being, Power has relocated from his former lean-to on St. Mark’s Pl. to a cozy corner of The Village Pour House — where he eats, sleeps and works around the clock. “We’re happy to have him. He’s part of our family over here,” McGarr said. “Compared to the streets with all that noise, it’s like being on an island,” the “Mosaic Man” raved.
