On March 19, in Battery Park, Steve Levy, the former Democratic Suffolk County executive, who earlier in the day had formally changed his voter registration to Republican, spoke on the first day on his campaign for governor. Levy said he wanted voters to see him as “Scott Brown II,” referring to the Massachusetts senator who pulled off an upset against a favored Democratic rival in January. Levy was accompanied by his wife, Colleen West-Levy.
