Mayoral candidate Fernando Ferrer, left, came to Chinatown to accept New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s endorsement Tuesday afternoon. “He has the ability to bring people of all different communities together,” Silver, whose district includes Chinatown, said after the pair had lunch at Tai Hong Lau Restaurant. Both Silver and Ferrer discussed their shared vision of more affordable housing, a better public school system, and access to top quality health care. City Council Speaker Gifford Miller, one of Ferrer’s opponents in the Democratic primary, also campaigned in the neighborhood Tuesday.
